Covid-19 SA Lockdown Extension Affects SALB

Dear Members

An extension of the South African Lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak was announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa until 30 April 2020. The SALB staff are set to return to duty on Monday 4 May 2020 accordingly.

Management is heeding the call by the President to ensure we play our part during the lockdown and keep contact to a minimum during this period, hence the Library will continue to be closed until the lockdown is officially lifted. During this trying period, many platforms such as Amazon have come to the party whereby everyone including our valued members who have access to the internet can source selected free audiobooks and listen to them online.

We anticipate that there will be a backlog in services due to the lockdown and will ensure our services are efficiently up and running once the lockdown is lifted. The Library staff will do an impact assessment upon return to work and will advise members accordingly. Please check our social media platforms for updates and messages from the Board and Management during this period.

We wish our members well during this period and for those celebrating Easter, we also acknowledge this auspicious period as well.

Please stay home and stay safe.
